Large number of Chinese at homes
According to the news from The Star Online Newspaper, Chinese make up a huge number of old folk abandoned at welfare homes. Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun said 33% of the residents in government-run old folk homes were Chinese.
I don’t know how true the statistic is. But at least, it tells us the problem is getting serious in our country especially Chinese community. We can’t take it for granted.
Imagine, if your children abandon you in future, how will you feel? If you don’t want this happen on you, you have to be a role model to educate your children.
