Minutes after Nur Alya Syafine Shaari was born, doctors knew that she would need a lot of medical care before she could lead a normal life.
Doctor found what was ailing her: Down’s syndrome and two holes in her heart. While doctors prepared for the operation, Shaari had to raise RM35,000 for the surgery. But earning RM1,400 per month as a factory security guard, Shaari barely made enough to feed his family.
