Evil, pain and suffering are never far from us. Why does God allow it? Can a loving God allow suffering? Why does God allow suffering? How do we reconcile a caring god, a god of power, with a god who allows evil to happen?

* Tragedies and suffering flood the news. Why?
* Evil and pain afflict loved ones, friends and communities. Why does God allow this?
* Suffering seems to leave no one untouched.

People ask why God allows pain in their lives – emotional pain, physical suffering, sadness and loss. They say God must not care, or perhaps he is not powerful.

God allows us to be human, to make choices. He cannot allow human freedom without allowing suffering or humans would be puppets. Much of the evil and pain in the world is human evil, humanly-caused pain, the result of human sin. Continue Reading »

Father’s Day for Christian fathers is a special time. Not only are they celebrating the fact that they are blessed to be fathers, but also are giving thanks for having their Father, the Lord. Getting a gift for Father’s Day for Christian fathers is as simple as going to your local religious store, located in many malls and churches. Some great gifts you can share on Father’s Day for Christian fathers are:

The poem “Footprints” by Mary Stevenson (or Anonymous) – This is a very well-known religious poem that has been placed on items of every shape and size. From throw rugs to framed art, to plaques and picture frames, to bookends and pillows, “Footprints” is a story that can be appreciated by Christian fathers everywhere. Make the item really special by making it yourself.

- The poem “Footprints” can be found in many books and online. Create a border collage of pictures around the text and add a nice frame.

- Make a plaster footprint and write the poem around it.

- If you do cross-stitching, rubber stamping or calligraphy, why not make “Footprints” into your own unique piece of artwork.

Bibles of every kind – This is a gift that will keep on giving, as Christian dads can find comfort within the pages of this uplifting book. For Father’s Day, you can find a bible with a leather cover, or personalize it with a special message created just for dad.

Crucifix Statues and Jewelry – These pieces of artwork will be appreciated everyday, around the house or at the office. Jewelry can be found in platinum, gold or silver, while statues can be found in bronze, gold, silver, glass and porcelain.

Religious T-Shirts – For everyday wear, these gifts are great for those fathers who like to announce to the world their love of God. With cross designs, religious figure designs and bible quotes, religious t-shirts are great on Father’s Day for Christian fathers.

The kinds of Father’s Day gifts you can give to Christian men are limited only by your imagination. If the gift comes from the heart, it will be cherished and appreciated for years.

The world is getting chaos…

Earthquake is getting frequent…

Human trafficking is getting worse…

Human attitude is getting worse…

These are the facts that Book of Revelation tells us in the Bible, before Jesus comes, the world will be getting worse…. And yes, the world is getting worse.

But the question we should ask if the world is getting worse. The question we should ask is – “What are we doing now?”

Are we:
- still working hard for money?
- still working hard for your big houses?
- still working hard for your fast cars?
- still doubting about Jesus Christ if He is the Savior?
- still doubting if God really does exist?
- still committing sin?
- still living in lifestyle that you lived before becoming Christians?
- still not going to church?
- still not serving God?

Jesus is coming, what we are doing right now. We should bear the responsibilities when the Judgment Day came. We have to answer God what we have done for Him, even we know enough a lot of warnings to show us Jesus Christ is coming.

The Story of the Miracle Worker

The Story of the Miracle Worker

There was at Capernaum an officer of the Roman army, a man who had under him a company of a hundred men. They called him “a centurion,” a word which means “commanding a hundred”; but we should call him “a captain. “This man was not a Jew, but was what the Jews called “a Gentile,” “a foreigner”; a name which the Jews gave to all people outside their own race. All the world except the Jews themselves were Gentiles.

This Roman centurion was a good man, and he loved the Jews, because through them he had heard of God, and had learned how to worship God. Out of his love for the Jews, he had built for them with his own money a synagogue, which may have been the very synagogue in which Jesus taught on the Sabbath days.

The centurion had a young servant, a boy whom he loved greatly; and this
boy was very sick with a palsy, and near to death. The centurion had heard that Jesus could cure those who were sick; and he asked the chief men of the synagogue, who were called its “elders,” to go to Jesus and ask him to come and cure his young servant. Continue Reading »

Plan B - Pete Wilson

Plan B - Pete Wilson

Plan B by Pete Wilson. The book shows me where God is when our lives turns out not what we want to be, where God is when we are experiencing difficult times, where God is even we doubt about God. Pete Wilson shows us God is always be with us no matter in what situations. There are a lot of inspired and true stories Pete Wilson shares with us in his book in Plan B.

There are 3 books made me cry and Plan B is one of them. The true stories that Pete shares with us are so real. It seems that I was there while reading those real stories. Especially Kelly’s case, when her baby died. It made me cry and ask “Why”, why God allows Kelly to suffer. Even Pete not able to answer the question when Kelly ask him. But Pete does provides answer in the book.

Everyone should read this book. The book reminded my hard time and inspired me to believe in God no matter in what circumstances. Thanks Pete for this great book! :)

Marcia Ford - Essential for Life

Marcia Ford - Essential for Life

Essentials for Life by Marcia Ford is a daily guide on how we can build relationship with God, how should we do in order to understand God more, to seek Him, to get closed with Him. It is also a guide for Christians how to treat other people around us by using God standards, how to overcome fear of failure in your life and other difficulties.

I read a lot of similar books to Essentials for Life. Basically, I didn’t get any new information, inspirations and motivations from the book. The book is quite similar to a book called The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. In fact, The Purpose Driven Life is much more better than Essentials for Life. The Purpose Driven Life discusses more deeply for every topic but Essentials for Life is just a very general guide which we easily find in any other Christianity books.

The Case for Christ - Lee Strobel
The Case for Christ – Lee Strobel

Who was in the manger that first Christmas morning?

Some say he would become a great moral leader. Others, a social critic. Still others view Jesus as a profound philosopher, a rabbi, a feminist, a prophet, and more. Many are convinced he was the divine Son of God.

Who was he – really? And how can you know for sure?

Consulting experts on the Bible, archeology, and messianic prophecy, Lee Strobel searches out the true identity of the child in the manger. Join him as he asks the tough, pointed questions you’d expect from an award-winning legal journalist. If Jesus really was God in the flesh, then there ought to be credible evidence, including

Eyewitness Evidence - Can the biographies of Jesus be trusted?
Scientific Evidence – What does archaeology reveal?
Profile Evidence – Did Jesus fulfill the attributes of God?
Fingerprint Evidence – Did Jesus uniquely match the identity of the Messiah?

The Case for Christmas invites you to consider why Christmas matters in the first place. Somewhere beyond the traditions of the holiday lies the truth. It may be more compelling then you’ve realized. Weigh the facts…and decide for yourself.
